2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 42 – Thursday

Rotherham United welcome Coventry City to New York Stadium in Thursday Night Football from the Sky Bet Championship.

Victory would see Rotherham climb out of the relegation zone at Coventry’s expense, whereas a win would see Mark Robins’ Robins climb to 18th and move six points clear of the drop.

Rotherham have no injury concerns to report after Tuesday’s comeback win over QPR, with a full squad available for selection.

Coventry will be without Josh Pask in line with concussion protocols after the defender suffered a head injury in Saturday’s away defeat at Bournemouth.

Dom Hyam (illness) could return along with Kyle McFadzean (knee) but Michael Rose (groin), Fankaty Dabo (hamstring), Ben Sheaf (hip) and Jodi Jones (knee) remain absent.

Prediction

With just 22 hours between their comeback win against QPR on Tuesday evening and kick-off of this game, Rotherham certainly face a tough contest because fitness is going to be key as this game wears on so they will need to take their chances early on if want another victory.

Coventry meanwhile have taken just five points from eight away trips in 2021 and just defensively collapsed against Bournemouth after finding an equaliser, which doesn’t stand them in good stead given their poor away form in this fixture.

This game however is a mega six pointer but I feel that fitness is going to come into play in the second half, which will give Coventry belief but if Rotherham can score twice early then they should hang on for a huge result.

Prediction: Rotherham 2-1 Coventry

Result: Rotherham 0-1 Coventry
