2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 33 – Sunday

Wycombe Wanderers welcome league leaders, Norwich to Adams Park in a blockbuster bottom vs top Super Sunday clash in the Sky Bet Championship.

Victory for Wycombe will see them reduce their relegation deficit to eight points whereas Norwich can restore their seven point lead at the summit with a win.

Ryan Tafazolli is suspended for Wycombe after his red card in Tuesday’s win over Reading.

Norwich will be without Todd Cantwell after the midfielder suffered a calf injury during Tuesday’s win at Birmingham City.

Onel Hernandez (leg), Ben Gibson and Orjan Nyland (both back) are doubts but Josh Martin (toe), Marco Stiepermann (illness), Michael McGovern and Sam Byram (both hamstring) remain absent.

Stat Attack

  • Wycombe have lost all five previous meetings against Norwich in all competitions (L5).
  • Norwich have lost all three previous trips to Adams Park in all competitions, scoring seven goals and conceding three goals (L3).
  • Gareth Ainsworth’s Chairboys haven’t recorded three consecutive clean sheets since a six match run between 26 October – 14 December 2019.

Given their poor record in this fixture and relative inferiority to rival teams, Wycombe simply have to come out here and fight with bravery like they always do if they are to pull off another shock against a promotion chasing team and get a third consecutive clean sheet.

Norwich meanwhile are favourites but they cannot afford to get complacent at Adams Park because if they do and the Chairboys dig in, this could get interesting but I genuinely feel that this will be an one-sided result given the difference in quality and form of both teams.

Daniel Farke’s Canaries however do have a huge clash on Wednesday at home to Brentford in the promotion race, so I can see them trying to get a routine win done with early goals before resting key players in this hectic schedule.

Prediction: Wycombe 0-2 Norwich

Result: Wycombe 0-2 Norwich
