BWT have signed a new partnership deal with Aston Martin to end rumours of a switch to Williams or Haas.
BWT (Best Water Technology) was title partner of Racing Point for the last two Formula One seasons but has been a sponsor of the team since 2017 under their old Force India name, with their pink livery making the team highly popular with F1 fans.
Under the new deal, BWT will no longer be title partner with Cognizant instead taking that sponsorship deal.
Aston Martin has confirmed that their new car will feature ‘an all-new base colour’ but teased that brand accents of BWT alongside their logos will remain a feature of the livery, which will be unveiled on Wednesday 3 March.
In a statement, Aston Martin also spoke of their commitment to ‘sustainability objectives; which include BWT’s efforts to reduce usage of plastics through recycling to reduce pollution within society.
Aston Martin CEO and Team Principal, Otmar Szafnauer described BWT as ‘loyal supporters’ and is delighted to have signed a new partnership deal with the water solutions company.
Speaking on their new partnership and commitments in sustainability, Szafnauer said: “BWT will support our efforts to become more sustainable in all areas of the business, but especially in our trackside operations – a goal that marries up with Formula One’s own sustainability objectives.”
BWT CEO, Andreas Weibenbacher meanwhile is ‘proud’ to renew BWT’s partnership with the team under a third different name, pointing to their strong 2020 season as a sign that the next few years will be ‘full of great promise’ featuring a new set of regulations in 2022.
Weibenbacher also spoke of the opportunity to continue their progress made last year to reduce the use of disposable bottles trackside, minimising plastic waste and facilitating local water treatment and consumption.
Hinting that there might of been some truth in rumours about partnering with Haas and Williams, Weibenbacher also spoke of how excited BWT are to start ‘cooperation with more people in the F1 community’ in their mission to fight to make planet earth free of plastic.
