2020-21 UEFA Champions League Last 16: First Leg – Borussia Monchengladbach vs Manchester City

Borussia Monchengladbach welcome Manchester City to the Puskas Arena, Hungary, in the opening leg of their Last 16 tie in 2020-21 UEFA Champions League on neutral territory.

Monchengladbach qualified for this stage as Group B runners-up behind Real Madrid whilst Man City comfortably topped Group C without losing any matches.

Prediction

Monchengladbach come into this game with just one win in their last five matches but do contain plenty of goal threats across the pitch, so expect to see the Bundesliga club cause City some issues although this game is taking place on neutral territory rather than home soil.

Man City meanwhile are on a fearsome run in all competitions of 18 wins and produced a confident robust performance at Arsenal on Sunday, despite scoring just one goal which came in the second minute so will definitely take some breaking down if they’re to lose this game.

I therefore am expecting a good contest here between two teams in contrasting form but with Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero back in contention, I can see just one result coming here.

Prediction: Borussia Monchengladbach 1-2 Manchester City

Result: Borussia Monchengladbach 0-2 Manchester City
