2020-21 Premier League: Week 24 – Everton vs Manchester City

Everton welcome Manchester City to Goodison Park in a huge rearranged Premier League clash.

Victory would see Everton stay seventh but move to within two points of fourth-placed Chelsea, whereas Man City look to move ten points clear of neighbours, Manchester United at the summit.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still ruled out for Everton after missing Sunday’s defeat against Fulham with a hamstring injury.

Jordan Pickford (rib) could also feature but James Rodriguez (knock) is a doubt and could join Jean-Philippe Gbamin (Achilles) on sidelines.

Man City could be without Ilkay Gundogan due to a tight groin suffered in Saturday’s win over Tottenham.

Fernandinho (quad) is a doubt but Nathan Ake (muscle) and Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) remain absent.

Prediction

Everton were absolutely lacklustre in Sunday’s night defeat to Fulham despite defending well for much of the game, as they just lacked any attacking intent let alone foothold on the game which is the last thing that Carlo Ancelotti needed ahead of this tricky fixture.

Man City are just on a roll with every player on the pitch stepping up even without De Bruyne and if they can continue this momentum with another sharp confident display like we saw on Saturday against Tottenham, I genuinely can’t see them not losing this game bar an unexpected Everton performance.

Prediction: Everton 0-3 Manchester City

Result: Everton 1-3 Manchester City
