Millwall welcome Watford to The Den in a rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash.
Victory would lift Millwall up to 14th in the standings, whilst Watford can rise to second for at least 24 hours before Swansea meet Brentford on Wednesday evening.
Team News
Connor Mahoney remains ruled out for Millwall as he nears a return from a quad injury.
Manager, Gary Rowett meanwhile will rotate his squad after making eight changes in Saturday’s FA Cup exit to Bristol City.
Watford have no fresh injury concerns as Ben Foster (finger), Christian Kabasele, Tom Dele-Bashiru (both knee), Domingos Quina, Stipe Percia and Isaac Success (all hamstring) remain ruled out.
Stat Attack
- Millwall have taken five points from their last six league meetings against Watford (W1, D2, L3).
- Watford have avoided defeat in seven of last eight league trips to The Den (W5, D2, L1), scoring at least twice in six of those clashes.
- Troy Deeney’s last four goals for Watford have all come from the penalty spot, with his last open play goal coming nine matches ago in a 2-0 win over Rotherham.
Prediction
Millwall looked to have turned a corner in a well grinded win at Huddersfield but their home form is a serious issue with no win in their last nine at The Den, which is worrying come into this fixture against a Watford team who have won four of their five games under Xisco.
Speaking of the Hornets, their away form is nearly as bad as Millwall’s home form with two wins in their last nine but they did get a confident win at Stoke with two quick-fire goals despite conceding late on.
You therefore wouldn’t be forgiven for punting for a draw here but I have a feeling that Friday’s away win might just be the launchpad that Watford need to crack on, especially now that they’re right back in the promotion race.
Prediction: Millwall 0-2 Watford
Result: Millwall 0-0 Watford
