2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 22 – Wednesday

Fourth  meets third as Brentford take on Bournemouth at the Brentford Community Stadium in one of two final matches to round off 2020 in Sky Bet Championship.

Both teams enter the match locked on 38 points apiece and a draw would see both at least temporarily move up to second and third, before Swansea face Reading in the late kick-off.

Victory meanwhile will put either team second for at least a few hours.

Brentford have no fresh injury concerns to report after Saturday’s win at Cardiff as Mads Roerlsav (foot) and Shandon Baptiste (knee) remain absent.

Bournemouth have a full squad available for selection with no injury or suspension concerns.

Stat Attack

  • Brentford have won just one of their last five meetings against Bournemouth (W1, D2, L2).
  • Bournemouth are visiting Brentford Community Stadium for the first time, yet are winless in their last seven trips to the Bees (D4, L3).
  • Thomas Frank’s Bees have scored three goals in three of their last four league matches.

Prediction

Brentford come into this game unbeaten in their last 15 matches across all competitions and have scored in nine of their last 10 games, which should concern Bournemouth who will need a good defensive plan to silence the Bees.

Saying that, Bournemouth have had a 11 day break so they could be slightly rusty early on but once they get stuck in, they should be a match for Brentford in terms of attack given their own goal scoring form.

Either way, this should be a good match between two attacking teams so will be either a goal or snooze fest but I am going for the latter and a point apiece.

Prediction: Brentford 2-2 Bournemouth

Result: Brentford 2-1 Bournemouth
