Premier League Announces January Broadcasting Picks

Premier League have announced January’s broadcasting picks with every match in each matchweek up to Thursday 28 January being televised live across Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime.

Sky will screen 25 of 45 televised matches throughout January including a tasty New Year’s Day clash between Manchester United and Aston Villa at Old Trafford in a 8pm GMT kick-off, with BT Sport televising West Ham’s trip to Everton beforehand at 5:30pm.

The opening weekend of 2021 also sees Sky airing two huge Super Sunday matches on 3 January as Leicester visit Newcastle (2:15pm) before Chelsea host Manchester City in the blockbuster teatime clash from Stamford Bridge at 4:30pm.

Other matches chosen for live broadcast throughout the month by Sky includes Liverpool’s visit to Southampton on Monday 4 January (8:00pm), a West London derby between Fulham and Chelsea at Craven Cottage on Friday 15 January (8:00pm) and Arsenal’s heavyweight encounter against Man Utd at the Emirates on Saturday 30 January at 5:30pm.

BT will televise 19 matches including the entire matchweek 20 which is the reverse fixtures from Amazon Prime’s exclusive midweek this month, including Arsenal’s trip to Southampton on Tuesday 26 January (8:15pm) and Tottenham’s home clash against Liverpool on Thursday 28 January at 8:00pm.

Amazon Prime will meanwhile televise one match during January which comes live from the London Stadium as West Ham face Burnley on Saturday 16 January in a 3:00pm kick-off.

Premier League meanwhile could be set for a return to the usual broadcasting system from matchweek 21 commencing Saturday 30 January, although a final decision on whether the current unselected games from that weekend will be televised or not will be taken in the New Year after consultation with clubs, broadcasting partners and any Government decisions concerning fans.

Matchweek 18 fixtures have been staggered across two midweeks of 12-14 and 19-21 January with Sky showing seven matches from that round to BT’s three picks in order to allow teams to have at least one guaranteed midweek off during the month as agreed during pre-season, with such fixtures indicated by an asterisk mark below.
