Lech Poznan welcome Rangers to Stadion Lecha in their final Group D clash of 2020-21 UEFA Europa League.
Poznan are already eliminated and will be looking to avoid finishing bottom of the group with a win, whereas victory would see Rangers advance as group winners ahead of Benfica.
Nika Kaczarawa is ruled out for Lech Poznan due to a knock and joins Filip Szymczak on sidelines, leaving a lack of forward options up front.
Several other Poznan first-team players are ruled out through various injuries, leaving the Polish team heavily depleted for this clash.
Rangers remain without Ryan Jack (knock) and Filip Helander (Coronavirus).
- Lech Poznan lost their only previous meeting against Rangers, losing 2-0 at Ibrox in late October.
- Rangers are unbeaten in four of five previous trips to Poland in all UEFA competitions (W2, D2, L1).
- Three of Gers’ five away goals in Group D this season has come in the first-half.
With Lech Poznan’s squad heavily depleted due to an injury crisis, this is a huge opportunity for Rangers to push forward and finish their Group D campaign on a high and win this section.
Steven Gerrard however will be keen to see his Gers improve defensively after leaking more goals in five Europa League matches within eight weeks than they have done in the Scottish Premiership this season, so I expect to see a slightly experimental side with a look at protecting the defence ready for the knockouts whilst continuing to show attacking intent.
Ultimately this should therefore be an one sided affair given Poznan’s injury issues and I can see Rangers getting that clean sheet to boot.
Prediction: Lech Poznan 0-2 Rangers
