Swansea City welcome Bournemouth to the Liberty Stadium in a huge midweek clash from the Sky Bet Championship.
Swansea can temporarily go top with a win due to Norwich and Reading not playing until Wednesday evening, whilst Bournemouth know that at least one point would see them climb to the summit for at least 24 hours.
Team News
Marc Guehi is a doubt for Swansea after suffering a head injury in Saturday’s win over Luton.
Morgan Gibbs-White remains absent with a foot injury.
Bournemouth continue to be without Cameron Carter-Vickers (ankle) and Jack Stacey (knee) but have no fresh injury concerns to report.
Stat Attack
- Swansea are winless in their last seven meetings against Bournemouth (D2, L5).
- Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last four trips to Swansea (W2, D2).
- Jason Tindall’s Cherries have kept clean sheets in their last four meetings against Swansea (W3, D1).
- Swansea’s Andre Ayew has scored three goals in each of his last three home appearances, with all three goals coming after half-time.
- Bournemouth’s Josh King has scored in two of his last three trips to Swansea (W1. D1).
Prediction
Swansea were absolutely clinical against a tough Luton defence but will need to find another gear this time because Bournemouth will be a tough test given how ruthlessly they dismantled Barnsley on Friday, plus are expected to field an unchanged team which will pose serious issues for the Swans.
I am therefore expecting a tough contest here between two teams who are rightfully in the promotion mix but given the Cherries’ recent away form in Swansea, I have a feeling that they could have the edge here to take a huge step forward in their promotion push.
Prediction: Swansea 1-2 Bournemouth
Result: Swansea 0-0 Bournemouth
