2020-21 Premier League: Week Eleven – Sheffield United vs Leicester

Sheffield United welcome Leicester City to Bramall Lane in the second of a Super Sunday quadruple header, as the Blades look for their first league win of this season.

Victory could put Sheffield Utd within three points of safety whilst Leicester could go as high as third with a win.

Enda Stevens could return for Sheffield Utd after missing their last two matches with a knee injury, whilst Ethan Ampadu is also likely to feature if can recover from a knock.

Jack O’Connell remains absent with a serious knee injury.

Leicester could welcome Timothy Castagne back from a hamstring injury if he passes a late fitness check.

Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu will sit out this match with minor groin injuries suffered in Thursday’s Europa League defeat at Zorya Luhansk and are joined on the sidelines by Wes Morgan (back) plus Daniel Amartey (ankle).

Stat Attack

  • Sheffield Utd have avoided defeat in just two of their last eight meetings against Leicester in all competitions (D2, L6).
  • Leicester’s senior team have lost just one of their last five trips to Bramall Lane (W3, D1, L1).
  • In two previous Premier League meetings, neither team have been awarded a penalty nor red card.
  • No Leicester player has played more through balls this season in the league than Youri Tielemans, who has played three through balls in ten appearances.
  • Blades’ Aaron Ramsdale has made two goal conceding errors in ten appearances this season compared to one in 37 appearances for Bournemouth last season.

Prediction

Sheffield Utd’s biggest issue at present seem to be scoring goals because they are doing everything right except putting goals in the right end, which is a real concern coming into this match against a strong Leicester team.

Brendan Rogers’ Foxes however haven’t really got going since the international break so if there is an opportunity for the Blades to squeeze a win, it is here against a team who have switched off defensively.

I however have a feeling that now Europa League qualification is sorted, Leicester will begin to shift their focus back to domestic duties because they still have the attacking quality, which might well be the difference here.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1-2 Leicester

Result: Sheffield United 1-2 Leicester
