Ralph Boschung has announced that he will return to Formula Two after an one year absence as he joins Campos Racing.
Speaking on his decision to return to F2 after spending a season out with budget issues, Boschung said; “I am proud to make my comeback in F2 with Campos Racing.
“I have tremendous respect for this team and I am convinced that with this deal we will have a great season in 2021.”
The 23 year-old Swiss driver also spoke of his thanks to Adrian Campos who runs the Campos Racing team for showing “his trust” in giving him a seat for next season alongside his main sponsors – Gotham and MedXcell for their “precious support.”
This announcement marks a return to Campos for Boschung where he started his F2 career in 2017 with a best finish of seventh in the Austrian Feature race that season as he went on to collect an overall total haul of 31 across 17-19 seasons, competing in the latter two seasons for MP Motorsport and Trident respectively without finishing both campaigns due to financial reasons.
Campos is pleased to welcome Boschung back to the team and Team Principal, Adrian Campos believes that Ralph “will make a nice work with us” whilst trusting in his talents and “…. chances to shine” whilst aiming to meet his expectations.
Back in April, we exclusively spoke to Boschung on his future plans in which he spoke of ‘currently working very hard’ throughout lockdown to prepare for a season with ‘full financial backup’ in place to support him on top of long-term deals in order to provide stability for the next few years whilst always maintaining his motto of ‘Never Give Up!’
F2 meanwhile are embarking on a series of cost-cutting measures which sees only eight rounds scheduled for next season on top of today’s earlier announcement that F3 champion, Oscar Piastri is to join Prema next season.
