2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week 11 – Saturday

Fourth meets third as Norwich City welcome Swansea City to Carrow Road in Saturday’s big Sky Bet Championship clash.

Norwich can leapfrog Swansea and go second with victory whereas the Swans know that a win coupled with defeat for Reading could send them top. of the Championship heading into November’s international break.

Lukas Rupp and Przemyslaw Placheta are doubts for Norwich after being subbed in their midweek goalless draw against Millwall with respective hamstring and calf injuries.

Todd Cantwell (ankle) is also doubtful but he will be handed a late fitness test alongside Rupp and Placheta, whilst Ben Gibson, Jacob Sorensen (both fatigue) and Marco Stiepermann (neck) are unlikely to feature.

Xavi Quintilla (hip), Onel Hernandez (groin), Kieran Dowell (ankle) and Sam Byram (hamstring) remain absent but Adam Idah (suspension) and Josh Martin (back) are both in contention to feature in this match.

Swansea are set to be without Ben Cabango after the defender suffered a hamstring injury in warmup ahead of Tuesday’s draw at Brentford.

Morgan Gibbs-White (foot) and George Byers (groin) remain absent and won’t feature for the Swans here.

Stat Attack

  • Norwich have won three of last five meetings against Swansea (W3, L2).
  • Swansea are winless in their last six senior trips to Carrow Road (D2, L4).
  • Emiliano Buendia has scored in each of Norwich’s last two clashes against Swansea, which both came in 2018-19 Championship season.

Norwich will be disappointed to have found themselves held by Millwall in midweek but they’re playing well in terms of avoiding defeat in their last six matches, which represents a return to their 2018-19 promotion winning form after their struggles last season with no consistency.

Swansea meanwhile seem to have hit an early rut in their away form with three sets of 1-1 draws from their last three away matches, which is a slight concern heading into this match against an in-form Norwich team who will certainly be keen to extend their unbeaten run.

With the Swans’ recent away form in mind, I feel that Norwich need two goals if they want to win this otherwise I am going for a score draw.

Prediction: Norwich City 1-1 Swansea City

Result: Norwich City 1-0 Swansea City
