Watford welcome Bournemouth to Vicarage Road as fifth takes on third in a huge Championship clash between two of last season’s three relegated Premier League teams.
Victory will lift Watford up to second but defeat will see Bournemouth leapfrog them into second instead ahead of the mid-afternoon matches.
Watford could have an unchanged squad from Wednesday’s win over Blackburn available plus a potential returnee from the injury list, although Vladmir Ivic has refused to disclose their identity.
Troy Deeney (knock), Andre Gray (hamstring) and Will Hughes (fitness) could be the likely candidates for a potential return, whereas Isaac Success (Achilles), Adam Masina (tendon) and Tom Dele-Bashiru (knee) are thought to remain absent.
Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns to report with a full squad available, including Adam Smith who was subbed at Cardiff in midweek with a knock.
- Watford are unbeaten in three of last four meetings against Bournemouth (W1, D3, L1).
- Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last six trips to Vicarage Road (W1, D5).
- Joao Pedro has scored three goals across three of Watford’s last four matches.
Watford have finally seemed to have found their scoring boots under Ivic with a confident performance in midweek, although Bournemouth will provide a tougher test given the Cherries’ unbeaten form and neither team have massively changed their squads since relegation.
Bournemouth however haven’t really found their gears in the last week with two draws and given their recent away form against the Hornets, I am going for a draw unless Joao Pedro can continue his hot form and strike twice for the hosts.
Prediction: Watford 1-1 Bournemouth
Result: Watford 1-1 Bournemouth
