2019-20 Premier League: Week 31 – Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

After suffering a disappointing draw in Sunday’s Merseyside Derby, Liverpool look to move closer towards the title as they welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield.

Victory would put Liverpool just one win away from the title unless Manchester City lose at Chelsea on Thursday evening, whilst Palace could climb as high as seventh with a win.

Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah could for Liverpool after sitting out Sunday’s draw at Everton with knocks.

James Milner (hamstring), Joel Matip (foot), Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) are ruled out.

Palace have no fresh injury concerns with Martin Kelly (calf), Jeffrey Schlupp (unspecified) and James Tomkins (thigh) still all sidelined.

Prediction

Liverpool will have to raise their game because they seemed quite rusty at Everton all over the pitch, which is surely a concern especially after Palace’s dominant display at Bournemouth in which their attacks caused massive issues down the flanks.

I therefore am expecting a tough game for Liverpool because Palace have the pace and attack needed to really hassle the Reds’ defence, although if they are more sharper after that first game back then Liverpool should just have the edge here.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

Result: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace
