Manchester City welcome Burnley to the Etihad Stadium in the first post-lockdown edition of Monday Night Football.
A win for Man City would see them move to within 20 points of league leaders – Liverpool, and deny the Reds a chance to lift the title in midweek.
Burnley can climb above Arsenal into tenth position if they snatch a shock victory here.

Stat Attack
- Manchester City are unbeaten in their last eight matches against Burnley in all competitions (W8, D1).
- Burnley have scored just twice in their last five trips to the Etihad Stadium in all competitions, whilst conceding 19 goals during that run.
- City are yet to lose at home to Burnley in the Premier League after five previous clashes at the Etihad (W3, D2).
- Man City’s Riyad Mahrez had scored a joint league-high two free-kicks this season entering this round of fixtures.
- Burnley’s Nick Pope has produced a season league-high 37 high claims coming into this round of fixtures.
Prediction
After Wednesday’s dominant win over Arsenal here, I just can’t see past Man City because they were superb, especially once they hit their stride which will be tough for Burnley who are without two of their best players in Barnes and Wood.
Sean Dyche however will set his side up to try and contain City for as long as they can whilst trying to impose their attacking play, although I don’t think it will work for long because City just looks too strong for the Clarets.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Burnley
