After suffering a shock midweek loss, West Bromwich Albion look to return to winning ways as they host relegation battling Luton at The Hawthorns.
A win will return West Brom to top spot of the Championship but only if Leeds lose to Wigan, whilst Luton can climb off the foot of the table with at least a point if Barnsley lose at Charlton.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesWest Brom have no fresh injury concerns after losing at Cardiff in midweek, as Kieran Gibbs remains out with a hamstring injury.
Luton could be without Matty Pearson and Ryan Tunnicliffe after the pair suffered respective knocks to their hip and ankle, during Tuesday’s win over Derby.
Sonny Bradley is also doubtful with an unspecified injury, whilst Brendan Galloway is still out with a knee injury.
Form
West Brom enter this match without a win in their last seven league matches (D4, L3), whilst taking just two points from their last three home games (D2, L1).
Luton ended an eight match winless league match run in midweek with a thrilling win over Derby (W1, D1, L7), but have lost each of their last nine away games.
Stat Attack
- West Brom are unbeaten in their last six meetings against Luton (W4, D2).
- Luton have scored twice in each of their last two league visits to The Hawthorns.
- Both teams have scored in two of their last three meetings at The Hawthorns, despite the Baggies running out eventual winners on all three occasions.
Prediction
West Brom realistically need a win here to reboot their promotion hopes now that the chasing pack have them within sight, whereas Luton come here on a high after a battling performance in midweek.
I therefore am expecting Luton to come here and take their expansive gameplay to the Baggies but with morale within the Baggies inconsistent, I can see Luton scrapping their way to a point here.
Prediction: WBA 2-2 Luton
Result: WBA 2-0 Luton
