Manchester United welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford in a crunch clash as both teams battle for fifth.
Depending on how Chelsea fare at Leicester earlier in the day, Man Utd could move to within three points of fourth-place with victory here.
Wolves meanwhile will at least temporarily leapfrog United if they take a win here and move up to fifth.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesManchester United will be without Nemanja Matic after he was sent off in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win over Manchester City, despite losing on aggregate.
Paul Pogba (foot), Axel Tuanzebe (hamstring) and Scott McTominay (knee) are sidelined until after United’s winter break.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah (fitness) and Marcus Rashford (back) remain long-term absentees with no return forecast for the foreseeable future.
Wolves are without Ruben Vinagre due to a hamstring injury, otherwise Nuno Espirito Santo has a near full squad available for selection.
Form
Man Utd enter this match with one win from their last four league games (W1, L3), although defeat in their last home outing against Burnley marked the first time that United had failed to score at home this season in 19 outings at Old Trafford.
Wolves have taken just four points from their last four league games (W1, D1, L2), but have taken seven points from their last five away trips (W2, D1, L2).
Stat Attack
- Manchester United have lost just one of their last five league meetings against Wolves (W2, D2, L1).
- Wolves have scored in each of their last three league trips to Old Trafford.
- United have scored in each of their last ten home games against Wolves in all competitions, also scoring first in four of those games in which both teams scored.
- Wolves are yet to receive a penalty against Manchester United, having failed to do so in 11 previous Premier League meetings.
- Both teams have had one player sent off across those 11 previous Premier League meetings.
Prediction
Man Utd are a head scratcher because we just don’t know which team is going to turn up regardless of if Bruno Fernandes makes his debut or not, given how inconsistent they are this season domestically.
Wolves meanwhile have come up against some good teams in recent weeks but do possess the quality to beat the Red Devils, although they will need to be at the top of their game and pressuring the opposite defence quickly if are to break them down and get that win.
I therefore feel that we are in for another draw between these two teams, although I have a feeling that Wolves might just turn up and cause a surprise.
Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Wolves
Result: Manchester United 0-0 Wolves
