2019-20 Europa League: Group Stage – Wolves vs Slovan Bratislava

Wolverhampton Wanderers look to take a huge step towards qualifying for the Europa League knockouts as they meet Slovan Bratislava at Molineux.

Wolves currently sit second in Group K and victory will move them five points clear of their Slovakian opposition, although if Braga fail to beat Besiktas then Wolves could go top with a positive result.

Bratislava meanwhile will leapfrog Wolves into the top two with victory, and potentially go top of the group if Braga loses to Besiktas.

Matt Doherty is available for Wolves after being subbed at the weekend against Arsenal with a knee injury.

Morgan Gibbs-White (back) and Ryan Bennett (groin) both face late fitness tests, although Willy Boly (ankle) is still sidelined.

Diogo Jota is also absent as he serves an one match ban after being sent off in the reverse leg a fortnight ago.

Bratislava have no fresh injury concerns to report ahead of this fixture and could name an unchanged team.

Prediction

Wolves are currently in another strong run of form with just one defeat in their last ten, whilst coming from behind in each of their last five despite conceding twice at Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup last week.

This therefore will be a tough clash for Bratislava who are coming up against a strong team, full of fighting spirit which should give them an edge here although we should see goals at both ends.

That comeback win in Slovakia two weeks ago however sums up Wolves’ character, even when down to ten men so I am going for a home win here.

Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Solvan Bratislava

Result: Wolves 1-0 Slovan Bratislava
