2019-20 Sky Bet Championship: Week 14 – Saturday

Third meets second in the Sky Bet Championship as Sheffield Wednesday take on Leeds United at Hillsborough in a feisty looking Yorkshire derby.

A home win will lift Wednesday above Leeds into second whilst the Whites can briefly go top before current leaders, West Brom face Charlton later on Saturday afternoon.

Kieran Westwood is set to return in goal for Sheffield Wednesday after he suffered a knock to his ankle in warm up ahead of last Friday’s 1-1 draw at Cardiff.

Massimo Luongo could also feature despite limping off during Tuesday’s home win over Stoke.

Leeds could have defender, Liam Cooper available after he recovered from a groin injury but manager, Marcelo Bielsa could stick with an unchanged starting eleven who drew 1-1 with Preston on Tuesday.

Form

Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in six of their last seven league games, scoring once in each of their last three home games including a pair of 1-0 victories over Wigan and Stoke respectively.

Leeds enter this match unbeaten in three of their last four games but have taken just four points from their last four away games (W1, D1, L2).

Prediction

With both teams in contrasting form, I am expecting an interesting game because whilst Wednesday are constantly improving, Leeds seem to have hit a rut which probably has come at a decent time rather than later in the season.

Wednesday in fact has scored first in three of their last four home games, including the last two which they held on for narrow wins so Leeds probably need to score first otherwise I can see the Owls possibly squeezing a home win out of this match.

Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Leeds United

Result: Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Leeds United
