Liverpool head to KRC Genk as they look to continue their Champions League title defence at the Cristal Arena.
Genk can move off the bottom of Group E with a win whilst Liverpool could go top if they take victory and Napoli fail to beat Salzburg.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesGenk will be without goalkeeper, Danny Vukovic due to an Achilles injury.
Neto Borges is also out with a foot injury but a similar starting eleven to that of the team who held Napoli last time out could be named.
Liverpool could have Mohamed Salah available after missing Sunday’s trip to Manchester United, with an ankle injury picked up just before the international break.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip miss out through illness, although Matip is also nursing a slight knee concern.
Nathaniel Clyne (knee) and Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) are also absent for the Reds.
Stat Attack
- This is Liverpool’s first meeting with KRC Genk in all competitions.
- Liverpool are unbeaten in their last three away trips against first-time European opposition (W2, D1).
- Genk are winless in two previous meetings with English opposition, holding Chelsea at home before losing 5-0 at Stamford Bridge (D1, L1).
Prediction
Liverpool weren’t admittedly at their best on Sunday but having Mohamed Salah back is a huge bonus, given their poor Champions League away form in the past year.
Genk however do look beatable because aside from Napoli. the Belgian side has been inconsistent this season and if Liverpool are on top form then I do see a comfortable win here.
Prediction: KRC Genk 0-3 Liverpool
Result: KRC Genk 1-4 Liverpool
