Liverpool extended their lead at the Premier League summit on a weekend which saw plenty of action and changes throughout the table.
Jetro Willems gave Newcastle an early lead at Anfield before Sadio Mane’s brace and a Mohamed Salah strike gifted Liverpool a comeback victory, moving them five points clear of second-placed Manchester City who fell to a shock defeat at Norwich.
Embed from Getty ImagesKenny McLean headed the Canaries ahead after 18 minutes from a corner before Todd Cantwell doubled their lead ten minutes later, with a slotted in a pass from Teemu Pukki but Man City then halved their deficit on the stroke half-time with a Sergio Aguero header.
Pukki then dragged wide a chance to increase Norwich’s lead shortly after the break, only to then instantly correct his error immediately afterwards by tapping in an intercepted pass from Emiliano Buendia.
Rodri then rescued the Citizens a consolatory second two minutes from time after blasting low into the bottom left from just outside the box, although Norwich clung on for the win after late chances for Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
Tottenham climbed to third after a dominant first-half performance saw they sweep Crystal Palace aside with a 4-0 win, whilst Marcus Rashford’s penalty proved the difference for Manchester United against Leicester as the Red Devils moved just above the Foxes into fourth.

Wolves slid to second bottom after losing a seven goal thriller at Molineux against Chelsea by a 5-2 result, as Filkayo Tomori scored his first Premier League goal before Tammy Abraham netted a hat-trick before flicking Kepa Arrizabalaga’s clearance into his own net to reduce Wolves’ arrears.
Patrick Cutrone then further cut the deficit with his first league goal but Mason Mount ensured a Blues victory with his strike deep into injury time as Wolves’ search for a first league win continues.
Aston Villa however climbed out of the bottom three with a goalless draw against West Ham in Monday Night Football, consequently dropping Newcastle into the relegation zone on goal difference.

Southampton made it four matches unbeaten in all competitions after Moussa Djenepo’s 66th minute effort proved enough to beat Sheffield United, who had an Oli McBurnie goal ruled offside earlier in the second-half.
Finally, Jeff Hendrick struck late to earn Burnley an away point at Brighton, who had led shortly after the break when Neal Maupay volleyed in Solly March’s cross.
