City could go top with victory for at least a few hours whilst Brighton will be looking to hit back after losing their league game last weekend against Southampton.

John Stones could return from a muscular injury here for Manchester City, as Gabriel Jesus is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

The Brazilian is ruled out alongside Benjamin Mendy and Leroy Sane who both are recovering from knee injuries.

Brighton will be without Florian Andone after he was sent off last weekend against Southampton.

He joins Ezequiel Schelotto, Jose Izquierdo (both knee), Yves Bissouma (shoulder) on the sidelines.

Form

Manchester City come into this game still yet to lose this season, having taken two away wins in between a 2-2 home draw with Tottenham.

Brighton meanwhile made an unbeaten start which was ended last Saturday by Southampton, before they saw off Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Stat Attack

  • Manchester City have won their last five meetings with Brighton in all competitions, keeping three clean sheets during that run.
  • Sergio Aguero has scored in each of his three previous league appearances for Man City against Brighton.
  • City’s Kevin De Bruyne has made four assists, more than any other player this season so far.
  • Raheem Sterling is City’s top scorer with five goals in their opening three games, which is his best ever goal tally after opening three rounds of a new season.
  • Brighton have hit the woodwork twice which is a current league high for this season along with Chelsea.

Prediction

City look unstoppable and although Brighton are playing some impressive football, they just don’t have the quality to cause a shock result here.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

Result: Manchester City 4-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
