2019-20 Premier League: Week Four – Leicester City vs Bournemouth

Leicester City will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start as they take on Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium.

Depending on other results, Leicester could head into the international break sitting in second-place if can take all three points over Bournemouth, who could leapfrog the Foxes in the table if they take the win.

Ben Chilwell is set to return from a hip injury after missing Leicester’s last three matches in all competitions.

Wilfred Ndidi is also expected to be available if he can overcome a hamstring strain but Matty James (Achilles), Daniel Amartey (ankle) and Wes Morgan (knock) are all ruled out.

Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns to report with none of their absentees fit to return this weekend.

Lewis Cook, Simon Francis (both knee), David Brooks, Lloyd Kelly (both ankle), Arnaut Danjuma (foot), Dan Gosling (hip) and Junior Stanislas (hamstring) all remain ruled out.

Form

Having drawn their opening two games, Leicester have won their last two matches against Sheffield United and Newcastle, albeit the latter came on penalties in the Carabao Cup.

Bournemouth meanwhile have taken one win, draw and loss apiece from their opening three league games before beating Forest Green on penalties in midweek Cup action.

Stat Attack

  • Leicester have drawn three of their last five meetings with Bournemouth, although both teams won their home games last season (W1, D3, L1).
  • Two of those three draws finished 1-1 and both came at the King Power Stadium.
  • Leicester’s last five goals against the Cherries have all come from five different goal scorers.
  • Ricardo has made 17 tackles for Leicester, more than any other player in the top flight so far this season.
  • Neither teams have had any player make a last man tackle so far this season.

Prediction

Given the positive starts by both teams, I think we are in for another close encounter but Leicester seem like they have more variety in their wardrobe, which could be key as the match wears on.

I therefore have a feeling that this will be a score draw but don’t be surprised if Leicester emerge from this clash with all three points.

Prediction: Leicester City 1-1 Bournemouth

Result: Leicester City 3-1 Bournemouth
