Swansea City welcome Birmingham City to the Liberty Stadium in a key Championship clash for both teams.
Victory for the Swans will return them to second place, whilst Birmingham can climb up into the play-off spots if they take all three points.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesSwansea could be without winger, Nathan Dyer after he missed Wednesday’s away win over QPR with a hamstring injury.
Aldo Kalulu is also set to be absent through injury so George Byers is set to keep his starting spot.
Birmingham will welcome Maxime Collins (strain) and Jake Clarke-Salter (back) into the matchday squad after the pair sat out Tuesday’s home win over Barnsley.
Form
Swansea enter this league match unbeaten with three wins and a draw, although they have kept just one clean sheet which came in a goalless draw at Derby.
Birmingham City meanwhile are unbeaten in three of their opening four league games but haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last three, since a 1-0 opening weekend victory over Brentford.
Stat Attack
- Swansea have lost just one of their last five meetings with Birmingham City in all competitions (W1, D3, L1).
- Two of their last three meetings have finished goalless, although both results came at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s.
- Swansea are yet to beat Birmingham at the Liberty Stadium in two meetings (D1, L1), although their last home win over the Brummies came in December 1990 at Vetch Field.
Prediction
I am expecting to see a good game because both teams can be tough to beat on their day, although Swansea do tend to do it more consistently and are riding high at the minute so should just edge this.
Prediction: Swansea City 2-1 Birmingham City
Result: Swansea City 3-0 Birmingham City
