2018-19 Premier League: Week 37 – Huddersfield Town vs Manchester United

Huddersfield Town welcome Manchester United to the John Smith Stadium in the penultimate Super Sunday of this Premier League season. 

Huddersfield are now playing for pride whilst Manchester United need a win to keep their top four hopes alive.

Huddersfield will welcome Aaron Mooy back from a hip injury for this clash with Man Utd. 

Laurent Depoitre is also set to return after two months out with a foot injury alongside Ben Hamer who has been missing for past few weeks with a knock. 

Mathias Jorgensen however is sidelined through illness but could return next weekend against Southampton. 

Manchester United could welcome back a host of players for this short trip to Yorkshire. 

Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard (all knee), Marcus Rashford (shoulder) and Antonio Valencia (muscular) are all set to be in contention. 

Eric Bailly, Sergio Romero (both knee) and Romelu Lukaku (hamstring) are all sidelined until further notice. 

 

Form

Huddersfield have lost their last eight matches but netted in three of their last four home games, only failing to do so against Bournemouth.

Manchester United arrive here on a run of seven points from their last seven league games, including three away defeats.

• Man Utd have won their last three clashes with the Terriers by a two goal margin. 
• David de Gea has made 118 saves this season, three more than the 115 that he made last season.

Prediction

After their good progress came to a shuddering halt at Liverpool last weekend, I am expecting Huddersfield to produce a much tighter performance against a shaky United side. 

Defeat here for Man Utd would therefore be no surprise after three abject away showings, but I fancy them to somehow win here if can rediscover their best quality.
