2018-19 Sky Bet Championship: Week 28 – Monday

Bolton Wanderers welcome West Bromwich Albion to the Macron Stadium in this week’s Monday Night Football from Sky Bet Championship.

A huge win will take Bolton out of the relegation zone whilst West Brom can move back into third with three vital points.

Team news

Bolton Wanderers are without Norwich loanee, Yanic Wildschut until April due to an ankle injury.

Wildschut has undergone surgery on the injury picked up during the Trotters’ FA Cup win over Walsall a fortnight ago.

Everton loanee, Joe Williams is out with a thigh injury but apart from those two absentees, Phil Parkinson has a full squad to choose from.

West Brom could have Matt Phillips available after the midfielder missed their warm weather training camp due to an ankle injury.

James Morrison (ankle) and Boaz Myhill (illness) are also expected to be involved but Jake Livermore is ruled out, as he serves the third of a four match ban.

Form

Bolton enter this match with defeats in two of their last three outings in all competitions, although they have just four points from their last seven league games.

The Trotters however have developed a habit in past month of scoring before going next two matches without a goal before repeating the process again.

West Brom have lost just one of their last 12 across all competitions, and scored at least twice in four of last five away games.

Stat Attack

  • Bolton are unbeaten in four of last five meetings with West Brom (W2, D2, L1).
  • Five of last six meetings has seen both sides score, with the exception being a 2-0 Bolton win on Boxing Day 2010.
  • Bolton have won two of their last four home games against West Brom by a 2-0 result.

Prediction

Bolton have been very inconsistent in last couple of months but when it comes to this fixture, they have a decent goal scoring record, which will provide them with some confidence.

West Brom however are a strong attacking side who have scored in last 11 and I can see them winning this rather comfortably.

Prediction: Bolton Wanderers 1-3 West Bromwich Albion
