Leicester fightback?

Leicester vs Liverpool is now a massive game after Claudio Ranieri’s shock sacking on Thursday. The fans clearly aren’t happy so expect them to be in fine voice throughout the evening wanting a win.

Team News

The Foxes are set to be without Molla Wague in defence after he picked up a shoulder injury. Other than Wague, there are no injury concerns in the squad.

Liverpool will have to make do without Dejan Lovren due to a knee injury. Daniel Sturridge is set to join him on the sidelines after suffering from a virus.

The only returnee is Ragnar Klavan after making a full recovery from illness.

Simmering Tensions

Ranieri’s departure spices things up because fans will expect to see a reaction from the players.

Failure to do so and the fans could very well revolt and voice their disapproval in a manner akin to past protests at struggling clubs, potentially dooming them to relegation.

Liverpool are however coming out of a rut and will be looking to push on and maintain the Champions League challenge.

With both sides in poor form, it’s going to be a tight battle against a ferocious background of angry fans.

Leicester weren’t bad against Sevilla in midweek but face a side who are also struggling domestically.

Liverpool only have two wins to their name since the turn of the year and will be hoping to make up ground in the top four race.

If the Foxes can push on from where they ended Wednesday night then they will be tough to break down.

Now that they’ve sunk into the bottom three, we might finally see the old Leicester return and do some serious damage.

Out of all the top leagues in Europe, only Leicester are yet to score a league goal in 2017 but should end that drought here.

Liverpool however will be hoping to avoid a return to their recent struggles with a win. Now that Sadio Mane is back, they will be tough to keep out on the attack and both teams should score.

The win could come down to who wants it more. Leicester players will look to prove that the decision to sack Ranieri was the right one by winning this match.

Liverpool on the other hand are lucky to still be in the top four race.

Their fortnight off puts them at an fitness advantage coming into this match and could well prove to be the difference here.

Prediction: Leicester 1-2 Liverpool

Result: Leicester 3-1 Liverpool
