2026-27 Sky Bet Championship: Week 14 – Tuesday

Portsmouth host high-flying Swansea in a massive showdown affecting the promotion and play-off races in the Championship.

Victory would see Portsmouth climb as high as ninth if QPR and Sheffield United both fail to win elsewhere, whilst Swansea can go top until Wednesday evening with a win.

Team News

Conor Shaughnessy and Josh Murphy are doubts for Portsmouth as the pair continue to slowly rebuild their match fitness after recent groin injuries, having returned to the bench in a 0-0 draw at Burnley on Halloween.

Colby Bishop, Connor Ogilvie, John Swift (all knee), Mark Kosznovszky (cruciate ligament), Luke Brooke-Smith (ankle), Keshi Anderson (hamstring), Benjamin Arthur (back) and Franco Umeh (hamstring) are sidelined.

Swansea will welcome Marko Stamenic back into the midfield after he sat out their 4-0 victory at home to Blackburn due to a fever.

Stephen Eustaquio faces a late fitness test after he suffered a groin injury at the weekend.

Cameron Burgess remains absent with an Achilles injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Portsmouth host Swansea at Fratton Park on Tuesday 3 November at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Prediction

Despite their injury crisis, Portsmouth have done well to be hanging onto the tail of the play-off chase but they need to be much more clinical and sharper if they’re to stand any chance of a result, especially after a wasteful display at Burnley with no shots on target.

Swansea meanwhile could of easily spiralled after two defeats on the bounce yet they unity and spirit showed through in a ruthlessly clinical win over Blackburn, which is the ideal result to get them back on track ahead of this bogey trip to Fratton Park.

Although Portsmouth clearly will try and cause issues with a resilient defence, I just don’t see Swansea losing this once they get the first goal but patience will be absolutely key at times.

Prediction: Portsmouth 0-2 Swansea
