2026-27 Sky Bet Championship: Week 13 – Friday

Sheffield United host Wrexham in a mid-table Championship encounter at Bramall Lane.

Victory will lift Sheffield Utd up to tenth until at least Saturday afternoon, whilst Wrexham can climb into 12th and leapfrog the Blades with a win.

Team News

Patrick Bamford is a doubt for Sheffield Utd after he suffered a knock during their 1-1 draw against Derby last weekend.

Mark McGuiness (concussion) could return but Ryan One is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Wrexham could welcome Max Cleworth (hamstring) and George Thomasson (thigh) back into contention.

Liberato Cacace (calf), Nathan Broadhead (thigh) and Josh Windass (ankle0 remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Utd host Wrexham at Bramall Lane on Friday 30 October at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Sat four points adrift of the final play-off spot, Sheffield Utd know that this is a massive chance to put pressure on their rivals if can be more clinical because they dominated Derby yet fell behind and could only recover one point against the Rams’ stubborn defence.

Wrexham meanwhile seem to be experiencing second-season syndrome as they certainly should be higher up the table and were wasteful in their loss at Blackburn, so huge improvement is needed if they’re to start hunting down a play-off spot soon.

I therefore am expecting a tight game between two teams capable of better performances and an improved end product, so a draw feels like a fair guess.

Prediction: Sheffield Utd 1-1 Wrexham
