Michael Duff feels like Bradford suffered “two points dropped,” after a 0-0 draw at Burton Albion.
Bradford only converted 3 of their 18 shots onto target in the goalless draw at the Pirelli Stadium, which saw them slip to third in the League One table after Stockport and Huddersfield both won elsewhere.
Duff consequently was frustrated with the wasteful result as he believes that his team has dropped two points, yet feels that the clean sheet balanced out the impact of the draw which could well prove decisive come the end of this season.
“Straight after the game, it feels like two points dropped, because we had gilt-edged chances to win it.
“But once the emotion drains out, you value the clean sheet and the point on the road.
“We had 18 shots, 17 of them inside the box. There is no point creating chances, though, if you do not score one.”
Duff also praised the support for making the 186.4 mile-round trip last night (20 October) which meant that some supporters didn’t return home until after midnight.
“The supporters are brilliant. They are a constant for us. The most pleasing part is they have stuck with the team.
“It is frustrating, but they can see there is intent and there are bodies in the box.
“You can see the connection across the whole football club at the minute.”
Bradford now head to Oxford United on Saturday and Duff is anticipating a different challenge against the Us.
“Oxford is a long way, against a very good team, so it will be a different challenge. But if the players give the same attitude, application and determination, we will give ourselves half a chance.”
