2026-27 UEFA Champions League: League Phase – Man City vs PSG

Manchester City face a blockbuster league-phase encounter against PSG in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League.

With both teams sat in the top eight at the start of this matchweek, victory would see either Man City or PSG remain in the top eight heading into the third matchweek.

Team News

Man City have no fresh injury concerns after their 3-0 Premier League victory at Liverpool, as Phil Foden returns from his domestic suspension.

PSG have no fresh injury concerns after their 3-1 Ligue 1 win over Le Mans.

Senny Mayulu remains sidelined with a thigh injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Man City host PSG at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 14 October at 8pm BST, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Man City have lost two of their seven previous Champions League meetings against PSG (W4, D1, L2).
  • PSG have lost all three previous Champions League trips to Man City (L3).
  • Man City have won five of their last six Champions League matches at home against French opposition (W5, L1).
  • PSG have kept clean sheets in four of their last five Champions League visits to English opposition (W4, L1).

Prediction

Having absorbed Liverpool’s attacking intensity for much of the first hour whilst creating small chances of their own, Man City certainly benefitted from Ryan Gravenberch’s red card as they turned up the intensity and clinical quality to perfection.

That win therefore is the ideal tonic after a tense international break off the pitch for the club and will fire them up further for their first home game since having been found guilty of financial breaches, whilst Pep Guardiola’s return as a spectator to his former club will only give extra motivation.

PSG meanwhile endured a scruffy start to the domestic season after their UEFA Super Cup success in August but do seem to have found their groove in the last month, despite keeping one clean sheet and I honestly expect that to not happen here such is the firepower in both teams.

City though have the upper hand at home over PSG and with Guardiola watching on alongside a likely rowdy home crowd, I fancy the hosts to get the win but should be close nevertheless.

Prediction: Man City 2-1 PSG
