Down in the relegation zone, Dominic Solanke’s 92nd-minute header saw Tottenham move off the foot of the table with a 1-1 draw at Manchester United despite Rodrigo Bentancur’s red card for a headbutt on Luke Shaw shortly after Bryan Mbeumo put the Red Devils in front.

Coventry climbed out of the relegation zone with a surprise 4-1 win at home over Newcastle as Jack Rudoni’s penalty and Sidiki Cherif put the Sky Blues in front, before Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni sealed victory after Sven Botman halved Newcastle’s deficit.

Bournemouth consequently slipped into the bottom three despite Evanilson’s consolatory effort in a 5-1 loss at Chelsea, during which Jordan Henderson and Joao Pedro scored twice for the Blues and Morgan Rogers too found the net.
