F2 have unveiled their calendar for the 2027 season which features several changes from the 2026 season.
F2’s traditional trips to Belgium and Hungary have been dropped in favour of trips to Turkey and Mexico in a bold move for the category, whilst the Barcelona round won’t happen because the visit to Circuit Barcelona-de-Catalunya isn’t part of the F1 calendar.
F2 organisers consequently opted to retain the Canadian round which was added this season as a replacement for the cancelled Saudi Arabia round, with the latter returning as the second round of the campaign on weekend of 19-21 March after Bahrain host the season opener across 12-14 March.
The axings of the trips to Belgium and Hungary also means that F2 will have a near two-month summer break after they hit the halfway mark of the season in Austria on weekend of 9-11 July.
F2 will conclude the campaign on weekend of 10-12 December in Abu Dhabi.
F2 CEO, Bruno Michel has welcomed the additions of Turkey and Mexico to the calendar alongside the return to Montreal, Canada.
“I’m very excited to add three new venues in a financially sustainable way, with the return of Montreal following its surprise addition in 2026 and the first appearance of Istanbul and Mexico City.
“We will be covering freight costs so that the territorial expansion of the calendar does not financially impact our teams.
“With a calendar spanning four continents and a carefully distributed sequence of Rounds, the 2027 FIA formula 2 Championship will offer teams and drivers a demanding and diverse season, while bringing the category to new audiences and strengthening its position as a global platform for the next generation of Formula 1 talent.”
