Haas have announced that Esteban Ocon will depart the team upon the conclusion of the 2026 Formula One season.
Ocon’s exit comes after two seasons with the team in which he currently lies 16th in the standings with seven points after his season’s best finish at the recent Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where he finished eighth after he was pipped by Arvid Lindblad to seventh over the line.
His performances however haven’t matched teammate, Oliver Bearman who has collected 20 points and sits 13th in the standings, prompting Haas’ decision to part company with the Frenchman at the end of this season with Ocon having started 39 Grands Prix for the team.
Haas Team Principal, Ayao Komatsu thanked Ocon for his professional attitude and contributions to the team over two seasons, which saw a change of regulations this season.
“I’d like to thank Esteban for everything he’s contributed to the team since joining us in 2025. His professionalism and commitment have proved valuable as we continue to grow as an organization.
“Together this year we tackled the challenge of a major regulation change, where Esteban’s driving experience and inputs were significant as we’ve worked hard to develop the VF-26 across the season.
“There’s still plenty of racing ahead, and our focus remains on working together to maximize every opportunity through to the final race of the year.”
Ocon meanwhile posted on X that he is proud of his time with Haas but iterated that he is still determined to achieve success in F1.
“My time with Haas F1 Team will come to an end at the end of the 2026 season. I leave this project with my head held high and proud of my performances in what were not always the easiest of circumstances for various reasons and factors outside of my control.
“My immediate focus is the next race weekend. I will continue to work hard with the team, maximise every opportunity, and keep extracting every bit of performance from the car. There are still many races to go this season and, as always, I will give it my everything behind the wheel for myself and for my team.
“I am still motivated. I am still hungry. This is absolutely not the end of my Formula 1 career.”

Ocon’s exit will bring the curtain down on his 10-year spell in F1 during which he won the Hungarian GP in 2021 and recorded three further podium finishes across his time at Alpine, having previously made his debut with Manor in 2016 as replacement for Rio Haryanto then drove for Force India between 2017-18.
He then spent 2019 as Mercedes’ reserve driver before he spent 2020-24 with Renault (rebranded as Alpine from 2021 onwards).
