Jack Doohan will replace Esteban Ocon at Alpine for the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Ocon’s unexpectedly early exit was mutually agreed between driver and team after he expressed interest in driving for Haas in the post-season test, ahead of his move to that team next season.

Alpine agreed to Ocon’s request in exchange for his early exit in order to allow Doohan to drive at the season finale, in order to allow the Australian to get a taster of a proper F1 weekend ahead of his rookie campaign next year with the team.

Ocon’s final race for Alpine ended in disappointment after he and Williams’ Franco Colapinto were eliminated in an opening corner incident in Qatar, albeit caused by contact with Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg.
