Tony Mowbray believes that Blackburn midfielder, Moussa Baradji needs the “right encouragement and management,” to deliver his potential.
Baradji had missed the start of the season after he suffered a hamstring injury during a 1-1 pre-season friendly draw at Blackpool, but made his return during Blackburn’s 2-2 draw at Portsmouth last Saturday (19 September) as a substitute.
“Baradji is a really talented boy,” explained Mowbray to RoversTV as he spoke of the 25-year-old midfielder’s talent and personality.
“I like Moussa. He’s my kind of player, really, because he’s mobile, he’s dynamic, he’s technical, but he has to impose himself on a football match more than he does at the moment.
“His personality is almost a little bit of he does what he does, but I want him to feel like the best player. I want him to say ‘give me the ball and watch what I can do’.”
Mowbray also feels that patience will be key for Baradji as he continues to rebuild his match fitness but is confident that he can help them register more victories – having won just two of their eight league matches so far as they sit 16th in the Championship table.
“I think we’ll get there and we move along with him, especially now he’s back on the grass.
“I hope that he can play a part in a lot of the games and help us win matches.
“With total respect to Moussa, I’m still feeling his personality. What’s the best way to prod him to get more out of him?
“I’ll learn all of that as I go along, but I hope we have a really good player who, with the right encouragement and management, will see me get the best out of him.”
