Spanish defender, Jana Fernandez has signed a new three-year contract extension with London City Lionesses until June 2029.
Fernandez’s new contract extension came just a year after she moved from Barcelona and scored twice in 25 appearances across all competitions last season, as the Lionesses finished seventh in Women’s Super League.
Her first goal for the club came in their fifth-round exit against Tottenham on penalties after a 2-2 draw, before she then scored in a 1-1 draw at West Ham in the WSL.
“I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new contract here at London City.
“When I arrived in England one year ago, I joined this club with dreams for the future. Potential, excitement and progress are three words I associate with the club and I’m pleased to commit my future. I feel at home and settled here.
“We are building something special together, as players, staff and fans and I can’t wait to play my part.”
London City Lionesses currently sit seventh in this season’s WSL after two matches.
