Relegation-battling Coventry City meet Brighton & Hove Albion in a tricky Premier League test.
Victory will lift Coventry out of the relegation zone and up to 16th on goal difference, whilst Brighton can rise to fourth with a win.
Team News
Sidiki Cherif is pushing for his first start for Coventry after having built up his match fitness in recent weeks.
Josh Eccles (undisclosed), Haji Wright (quad), Kaine Kesler-Hayden (hamstring) and Luke Woolfenden (knee) remain sidelined.
Brighton will be without Mats Wieffer after he suffered a knee injury during their 1-1 draw against Leeds last weekend.
Zadok Yohanna (unspecified) is also ruled out but Georginio Rutter (knock), Femi Azeez (fitness) and Michael Svoboda (knee) are doubts.
Yankuba Minteh (leg), Stefanos Tzimas (knee), Kaoru Mitoma (hamstring), Jack Hinshelwood and Evan Ferguson (both ankle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Coventry host Brighton at CBS Arena on Sunday 13 September at 2pm BST, live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Coventry’s first Premier League meeting against Brighton.
- Brighton have won one of four previous top-flight visits to Coventry in the Old First Division (W1, D1, L2).
- Coventry are yet to score a league goal this season (L3), although they lost their last two matches by 1-0 results.
- Brighton’s Diego Gomez is yet to score from any of his four shots on target in the league this season.
Prediction
Having narrowly found themselves on the losing end of 1-0 defeats in their last two matches and still yet to score in the Premier League this season, Coventry now need to sort out their end product and be more clinical especially after they wasted late chances at Manchester City.
Brighton meanwhile have their own issues in their own end product because they really should of beaten Leeds given their dominance, yet they were very wasteful so a huge response is needed here if they’re to take a great opportunity to go fourth.
This home fixture though is the type that Coventry realistically need to be winning if they’re to stay up, but I think that Brighton will have too much for them.
Prediction: Coventry 0-2 Brighton
Result: Coventry 0-5 Brighton
