Liverpool look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season against Fulham at Anfield.
Victory could lift Liverpool as high as third if results elsewhere go in their favour, whilst Fulham can climb out of the relegation zone with a win.
Team News
Bradley Barcola is expected to be available for Liverpool despite having suffered cramp during their 2-1 midweek Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.
Cody Gakpo (adductor) is a doubt for selection but Federico Chiesa, Joe Gomez (both muscle), Giovanni Leoni (ACL), Conor Bradley (knee) and Hugo Ekitike (Achilles) remain absent.
Fulham have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-2 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend, with only Tom Cairney sidelined due to a knee injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Liverpool host Fulham at Anfield on Saturday 12 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Liverpool have won just one of their last four league meetings against Fulham (W1, D2, L1).
- Fulham have claimed one point in their last four league trips to Liverpool at Anfield (D1, L3).
- Andoni Iraola’s Reds have scored twice in all four matches across all competitions so far this season (W2, D2).
- Two of Fulham’s three defeats this season have been by 3-2 results against Chelsea and Crystal Palace respectively.
Prediction
Having battled from behind to beat Atletico Madrid and kept up their consistency of scoring twice in games this season, Liverpool really need to keep playing their forward line-breaking attacking play as it is working and will click fully over time.
Fulham meanwhile are clearly still in a transitory period under Alvaro Arbeloa but their defensive play needs serious work if want any chance here, especially after they threw away a 2-1 lead against Palace through scruffy second-half clearances and marking.
Although Fulham do have the attacking potential to pose some issues, their defensive play is making me think that Liverpool will get a routine win.
Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Fulham
Result: Liverpool 0-0 Fulham
