Arturo Ruiz has been named as Brighton & Hove Albion Women’s new Head Coach.
Ruiz’s appointment came hours after Dario Vidosic left the club for Angel City in the US’ NWSL, and sees the Spaniard take up his first managerial role in English Football on a three-year contract until June 2029.
Ruiz began his managerial career at Atletico Madrid and led them to third in Spain’s Liga F across nine matches between February – May 2024, which he replicated last season with Real Sociedad after he guided Granada to fifth in the 2024-25 Liga F.
Brighton’s Women and Girls’ Managing Director, Zoe Johnson is “delighted” to appoint Ruiz as Vidosic’s replacement given his reputation in developing teams and players.
“During our recruitment process, he quickly stood out. He has a proven track record of developing teams and individuals.
“We have confidence in his ability to continue to drive this team forwards, and he will have our full support as we make our final preparations for the start of the new WSL season.”
Sporting Director, Mike Cave added: “Arturo is a talented young coach who has demonstrated his ability in improving teams and layers he has worked with during his coaching career.
“His leadership qualities and coaching philosophy excites us and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve within our environment.”
