Arsenal have signed midfielder, Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Tzolis’ move has ended his two-year stay at Club Brugge, where he produced 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 appearances in all competitions.

Tzolis has signed a five-year contract until June 2031 and will wear the number 17 shirt.

“I’m a direct player, I go for goals or assists,” explained Tzolis on his qualities as an attacking midfielder.

“That’s my point of view as an attacker, as a winger. I’m always hungry to score or to give the final pass to my teammates. And I can say I work hard for the team, also in the defensive part.”

Tzolis added that he is ready to fight for his spot in the team and win titles.

“Of course it’s a very competitive team to be a player of, but I think you just have to enjoy it.

“You will need to work hard every training session and then you have to show it on the pitch. I’m really looking forward to it, to see the guys, to meet everybody in the squad and to play all together. It’s a great feeling, I’m looking forward to my first game.”

“My targets are to win titles, of course. I think for everybody the target is there, as many as possible. And to have as much as possible game time with the team, then the rest will come, I’m sure about that. So for me the most important is to settle well in the team, have a good feeling, play as much as possible and then we’ll be very good, I believe.”

Tzolis began his senior career at PAOK where he netted 17 goals in 57 appearances between 2019-21 and won Greek Cup in his second season, which earned him a move to Norwich but he only managed two goals in 17 appearances as the Canaries were relegated from Premier League to Championship.

He subsequently went on loan to FC Twente which saw him net three goals in 15 appearances in the first half of the 2022-23 season, before he returned to Carrow Road where he managed one goal in 13 appearances which meant that he only netted three goals in 30 total appearances for Norwich.

The 2023-24 season saw him join Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan in a spell which saw him net 24 goals in 35 appearances, and led Club Brugge to sign him in summer 2024, which saw him help them win the Belgian Cup and Belgian Super Cup last year then the Pro League title last season.

Tzolis represents Greece at international level with nine goals in 34 senior appearances for his country.
