Mexico have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-0 victory over Czech Republic, with manager – Javier Aguirre set to recall Raul Jimenez to the starting line-up after the Mexican was rested against the Czechs.
Ecuador too have no fresh injury concerns after they came from behind to beat Germany 2-1 in their final group match.

Prediction
Having topped Group A without conceding to retain home advantage for this tie and been able to rest players in their clinical win over Czech Republic, Mexico genuinely do look like strong favourites as their attack is strong and defence looks resiliently robust.
Ecuador meanwhile certainly caused a surprise because after conceding just two minutes into their clash against Germany and having not scored in their first two matches, they could of wilted yet they instead dug in and clinically executed their chances to edge through.
I however do think that Mexico will be far too strong on their own turf as they have the momentum and confidence that Ecuador have just found, so this could well be a routine win for the co-hosts.
