Team News

Morocco too have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 4-2 Group C win over Haiti.
When is Kick-Off?

Stat Attack
- Netherlands won 2-1 in their only previous World Cup meeting against Morocco in June 1994.
- Morocco are playing as the designated away team against Netherlands at a World Cup for the first time.
- Three of Netherlands’ 10 goals in the Group Stage were scored by Brian Brobbey.
- Ismael Saibari scored in all three of Morocco’s Group C matches (W2, D1).
Prediction
If there is one certainty about the Netherlands this season, it is that they have plenty of firepower and attacking press yet don’t seem to have a clean sheet in them, which has to change because they can’t keep relying on their attack to carry them deep into the tournament amidst sloppy defensive errors. ]
Morocco meanwhile at least have one clean sheet to their name at this tournament even though they did ride their luck at times in their 1-0 win over Scotland, but Haiti certainly raised questions at an ideal time of Morocco’s defence that I expect them to have worked on since that game.
On that note, it is a shame that the tie is at an unsuitable hour for European and African audiences because this is surely going to be a cracker, and I can see this going to penalties with Morocco causing a cupset.
Prediction: Netherlands 2-2 Morocco (Morocco win on penalties)
Result: Netherlands 1-1 Morocco (Morocco win 3-2 on penalties)
