2026 FIFA World Cup: Group B – Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Qatar

Bosnia & Herzegovina meet Qatar in a crucial final Group B showdown at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Victory would see Bosnia & Herzegovina finish second if Canada lose to Switzerland and they finish above them on goal difference, otherwise they would finish third.

Qatar will qualify for the knockout stages in second if they beat Bosnia & Herzegovina coupled with a loss for Switzerland against Canada, plus a seven-goal swing in goal difference towards their favour.

Team News

Tarik Muharemovic is suspended for Bosnia & Herzegovina following his red card in their 4-1 loss to Switzerland.

Qatar will be without Homam Ahmed and Assim Madibo who are both suspended, having been red carded in their 6-0 loss to Canada.

When is Kick-Off?

Bosnia & Herzegovina face Qatar at Lumen Field, Seattle, USA, on Wednesday 24 June at 12pm PDT (8pm BST), live on ITV4 and ITVX in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Bosnia & Herzegovina’s first World Cup meeting against Qatar.
  • Qatar are yet to lose to Bosnia & Herzegovina in all competitions (W2, D1).
  • No Bosnia & Herzegovina players has won more tackles in their first two matches than Nikola Katic (4).
  • Three of Qatar’s nine shots were produced by Edmilson Junior.

Prediction

Both Bosnia & Herzegovina plus Qatar ideally needed to win their last outings to stand any chance of qualifying in the top two, as now this is realistically a third-placed play-off because if Canada and Switzerland draw in their clash then the top two is out of reach.

Bosnia though on paper should have the quality to give themselves a chance if they avoid the defensive meltdown that they produced against the Swiss, whilst Qatar was just played off the pitch with ease by Canada and to have two enforced changes doesn’t help their cause.

In fact, I honestly expect Bosnia to come out on top if they are much sharper and solid at the back as Qatar’s confidence is surely low enough for the taking.

Prediction: Bosnia & Herzegovina 1-1 Qatar
