Germany meet Ivory Coast in a top of Group E showdown at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Victory would see Germany or Ivory Coast secure their spot in the knockout stages and sit top of Group E going into the final round of group matches.
Team News

Ivory Coast have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-0 win over Ecuador, with forward – Evan Ndicka still a doubt after he missed that match due to a thigh injury.

When is Kick-Off?
Germany meet Ivory Coast at BMO Field, Toronto, on Saturday 20 June at 4pm EDT (9pm BST), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Germany’s first World Cup meeting against Ivory Coast.
- Ivory Coast drew 2-2 in their only previous meeting against Germany in an international friendly in November 2009.
- Germany’s Felix Nmecha converted three of his four shots against Curacao onto target.
- No Ivory Coast player produced more shots against Ecuador than Seko Fofana (4).
Prediction
Following their ruthless demolition of a lacklustre Curacao, it’s imperative that Germany don’t get complacent because they can’t afford to turn up with the cooker dialled down a few gears expecting another strong win, as this is a much tougher test and one which could decide top spot in Group E.
Ivory Coast in contrast had to grind out their victory over Ecuador in a contest where they were the slightly more dominant team but frustrated in a lively end-to-end battle, but that experience will stand them well for this difficult test unlike Germany in terms of grittiness.
Nevertheless this game is one that neither team won’t want to lose with a chance to seal a knockout spot on offer so I expect a competitively entertaining game, which could well end in a point apiece.
Prediction: Germany 1-1 Ivory Coast
