Ecuador and Curacao both look to bounce back from opening Group E defeats in a crucial showdown at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Victory could lift Ecuador up to second in the group table, whilst Curacao could go third with a win.
Team News
Ecuador have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 loss to Ivory Coast.
Curacao too have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 7-1 loss to Germany.
When is Kick-Off?
Ecuador face Curacao at Arrowhead Stadium, Kanas, USA, on Saturday 20 June at 7pm CDT (1am BST, Sunday 21 June), live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Ecuador’s first World Cup meeting against Curacao.
- Curacao have never met Ecuador before in all competitions.
- Pedro Vite made more interceptions against Ivory Coast than any other Ecuador player (3).
- Jeremy Antonisse created more crosses against Germany than any other Curacao player (3).
Prediction
Having just lacked a clinical end product against Ivory Coast, this is the ideal chance for Ecuador to regroup and bounce back if can be much sharper in their final touches such is their superior quality.
Curacao though have nothing to lose as underdogs but they will need to maintain their fitness across the match and tighten up defensively, otherwise this could be another difficult match if they concede first but I expect them to at least bring the same fight that they showed Germany.
Ecuador though should realistically cruise through this game such is the difference in experience and form.
Prediction: Ecuador 3-0 Curacao
Result: Ecuador 0-0 Curacao
