Defender, Tino Livramento has withdrawn from the England squad at 2026 FIFA World Cup due to a calf injury.
Livramento suffered the calf injury during training on Sunday 14 June and the FA released a statement confirming that the medical assessment led to the decision to rule him out of the squad for the entire tournament.
“Newcastle United defender Livramento picked up a calf injury in training on Sunday afternoon. A subsequent scan and medical assessment on Monday unfortunately confirmed he could play no further part in England’s tournament.”
The FA have also confirmed that Chelsea defender, Trevoh Chalobah has been called up as Livramento’s replacement, but won’t feature in their opening Group L match against Croatia on 17 June.
Chalobah however will join up with the team back at their base in Kanas City following that match due to the short notice of his call-up, and is expected to be available for their group matches against Ghana and Panama on 23 and 27 June respectively.
