Brighton & Hove Albion have signed defender, Costinha from Olympiacos for an undisclosed fee.

Costinha’s move comes after two seasons at Olympiacos in which he scored one goal in 67 appearances, during which they won the 2024-25 Super League Greece and Greek Cup titles, then the 2025 Greek Super Cup in January this year.

Brighton’s Head Coach, Fabian Hurzeler on his two-year anniversary in charge of the Seagulls has welcomed Costinha’s arrival on a five-year contract, as he explained that the 26 year-old has the qualities needed to help improve his team.

“Costinha is a player we have followed closely for some time. He has the defensive capabilities, intensity and understanding of what we value and we feel he will be an excellent addition to the squad.

“He is also comfortable in and out of possession of the ball and will add competition at right-back, alongside our existing options. I am delighted he has chosen to continue his development with us in the Premier League.”

Costinha began his senior career at Rio Ave in Portugal where he scored 10 goals in 121 appearances before he moved to Olympiacos.
