Stockport County’s Oliver Norwood and Kyle Wootton headline the six PFA League One Player of the Year Nominations.
Norwood’s nomination comes after a strong season saw him score in three of the four competitions that Stockport were involved in – having only failed to score in two EFL Trophy appearances, as he managed 11 goals and 12 assists in 49 total appearances.
Kyle Wootton completes a brace of nominations at Stockport after he produced 21 goals and four assists in 55 total appearances, as the Hatters reached the League One Play-Off Final where they lost 4-1 to Bolton at a scorching Wembley Stadium.
Wootton’s achievement also comes amidst a successful mid-season change from centre-forward to centre-back due to injury issues within the squad.
Norwood and Wootton however face competition for the gong from a member of their Wembley conquerors, as Bolton loanee, Amario Cozier-Duberry has too been nominated following a successful stint with 10 goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances despite three months out with a knee injury.
Lincoln City’s Jack Moylan is also nominated after he helped the Imps claim promotion and the title to secure a return to the second-tier after a 65-year absence, in which he scored 12 goals and contributed six assists in 34 total appearances.
Leyton Orient’s EFL League One Player of the Season winner, Dom Ballard will be hoping to add to his trophy collection, having received a nomination after he delivered 23 goals and four assists in 44 appearances.
Barnsley’s David McGoldrick rounded out the nominations after a strong campaign saw him net 18 goals and create three assists in 41 total appearances, despite the Tykes’ 15th-placed league finish.
The winner will be revealed at the Opera House Manchester on Tuesday 25 August 2026 at the PFA Awards.
